Nose Piercing Jewelry
This was a fun little project, technically very difficult though. All the photos are a combination of several photos. Extensive edits and minute color correction was done to reach a the polished image you see. The small size of the jewelry added another level of difficulty. Everything was macro style shooting, and for the professional photographer curiosity, yes there was some focus stacking.

Sometimes with a limited number of photos at your disposition you can’t quite illustrate everything, but lifestyle photos put everything into perspective.

Splashes, Drops, Bubbles, Fog, Smoke, Flame, Drips
This type of project is not a daily occurrence. It was a perfect storm, a client that was willing to give me freedom to create and also an extended timeline.
Pulling all stops.
Of course there was a plan and it helped but it wasn’t quite enough and all the deadlines flew out the window. The results are below and you can see I pulled all the stops, explored different styles, played with all kinds effects, fire, steam smoke, fog, water.I can say now that special effects photography is a very demanding field. If you are a DIY type of person you will have an advantage because there’s a lot of improvisation required, and sometimes spit and chicken wire. There’s a reword at the end of a session, something you’ve never seen before and you didn’t know you could pull until that very moment.

Vinyl records are having a resurgence and the interest brings life into all the accessories around the industry, storage solutions included. This set of photos is the minimum standard you would need for online shopping stores, prints, packaging or your Instagram feed.
This was one of the most difficult projects we have done at Philux Photo. A lot of time and delicate effort has gone into producing spectacular images.
Very close in style to jewelry, watches demand a lot of attention, great light control and some special editing techniques.
