Shot on location, this project was different than any home decor items I’ve shot before. Moving them to the studio was unpractical, the weight being a very good reason.
Managing reflections was the hardest part. The texture of the metal must be preserved as much as possible. Soft light always helps, yet, if the object looks flat, without shadows, you are overdoing it. To some extent it was like shooting a portrait session, since most of the pieces represent children or adults, people in various contexts.
The set took about four hours to shoot and around 8 hours for editing ( 30+ items ).
The photos were meant for both print catalog and online gallery.
